Rainfall for the month was 3.88”, which was .55” more than normal.
The average High of 83.3 was 2.9-degrees cooler than normal
The average Low of 60.6 was 3.5-degrees cooler than normal, as well.

The hottest day was Aug. 2nd when we reached 91 degrees. The coolest morning was on the 23rd, when we bottomed out at 42 on the thermometer here at KJAN.

Today: Patchy fog before 9am. Otherwise, sunny, with a high near 88. South wind 6 to 11 mph.
Tonight: A 30 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms, mainly after 4am. Partly cloudy, with a low around 69. South wind 6 to 8 mph. New rainfall amounts of less than a tenth of an inch, except higher amounts possible in thunderstorms.

Wednesday: A 20 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms before 1pm. Partly sunny, with a high near 87. South wind 7 to 14 mph, with gusts as high as 22 mph.
Wednesday Night: A 20 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms. Partly cloudy, with a low around 69. South wind 7 to 9 mph.

Thursday: Mostly sunny, with a high near 88.

Friday: Mostly sunny, with a high near 87.

THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN DES MOINES HAS ISSUED A DENSE FOG ADVISORY…WHICH IS IN EFFECT UNTIL 9 AM CDT THIS MORNING.

* VISIBILITY…WIDESPREAD VISIBILITIES WILL BE DOWN TO A QUARTER
MILE THROUGH 8AM OR 9AM…AND THEN IMPROVE TO AT LEAST SEVERAL
MILES SHORTLY AFTER THAT TIME.

* IMPACTS…TRAVEL WILL BE DIFFICULT AND POTENTIALLY DANGEROUS WITH VERY LIMITED SIGHT DISTANCE BETWEEN VEHICLES AND OTHER OBJECTS.
