Sept. 2015 Weather Data for Atlantic

The month of September was wetter and warmer than average, but cooler overall. Rainfall for the month here at the KJAN studios (The official National Weather Service reporting site for Atlantic) amounted to 5.71 inches, which was 1.9 inches more than normal. The heaviest rains (4.56 inches) fell during the week of Sept. 22nd.

The average High last month was 79.8 degrees, which was 3.4 degrees warmer than normal. The average Low was 55.8. That’s 4.7 degrees warmer than normal. The Mean average temperature for the month (combination of the high/low), was 67.8 degrees, which was 4.2 degrees cooler than normal.

Today: Showers likely and possibly a thunderstorm before 10am, then a slight chance of showers between 10am and 11am. Cloudy through mid morning, then gradual clearing, with a high near 67. Breezy, with a northeast wind 10 to 15 mph, with gusts as high as 22 mph. Chance of precipitation is 70%. New precipitation amounts between a tenth and quarter of an inch, except higher amounts possible in thunderstorms.

Tonight: Mostly clear, with a low around 43. Northeast wind 5 to 10 mph.

Wednesday: Mostly sunny, with a high near 65. East wind 5 to 10 mph.
