IOWA CITY, Iowa (AP) — Iowa coach Kirk Ferentz has named offensive line coach and son Brian Ferentz as his new offensive coordinator.

The Audubon Wheelers play host to the Orient-Macksburg Bulldogs in Boys Basketball tonight and we’ll have coverage on KJAN. The Wheelers come in with a record of 5-3 while the Bulldogs are 4-6 on the season.

Audubon is led by Tate Killeen who is averaging 21 points per game. Josh Lange is averaging 13 points and Tyler Reibhoff 12 points per outing as well for the Wheelers.  The Bulldogs have been led by Dylan Nichols and Noah Nichols averaging 22 and 16 points per game respectively.

The Atlantic/CAM wrestling team got six individual champions on their way to a title the Rollin Dyer Tournament.  The Trojans scored 275.5 points to win their home tournament with Ankeny second at 196.5.  Kole Hansen (113), Carter Cox (120), Chase McLaren (126), Drake Roller (170), Zac Stork (195), and John McConkey (285) all took individual championships.  Mitchell Williamson was runner-up at 170. Connor Pellett (145), Austin Mills (182), and Nate Moen (220) were third place finishers in their weight classes.

The Steelers deserved to be in a celebratory mood following their 30-12 victory Sunday, over Miami. But there was some concern in the Steel City after quarterback Ben Roethlisberger showed up at the postgame news conference wearing a walking boot. Roethlisberger threw just 18 times the entire afternoon, completing 13 for 197 yards and a pair of interceptions. He tweaked the ankle while throwing an interception on Pittsburgh’s penultimate drive. He sprinted off the field afterward and said he will be ready to go against the Chiefs.

Pittsburgh carries an eight-game winning streak to Kansas City, where they will battle the Chiefs next Sunday.

DES MOINES, Iowa (AP) — Reed Timmer scored 28 points and Ore Arogundade had 17 in leading Drake to an 88-76 victory over Evansville on Sunday. Timmer and Arogundade combined to shoot 15 for 23 from the floor and Timmer made all eight of his free throws. The Bulldogs as a team shot 23 for 25 (92 percent) from the free-throw line.

Ryan Taylor made a 3 to give Evansville a 72-70 lead with 4:03 to play. Casey Schlatter tied it with a pair of free throws, Arogundade hit a 3-pointers and Drake (4-12, 2-2 Missouri Valley) led the rest of the way. T.J. Thomas made a layup and Arogundade made another 3 for an 80-72 lead. Thomas and De’Antae McMurray each finished with 10 points.

Jaylon Brown led Evansville (10-7, 1-3) with 23 points. Dru Smith and Duane Gibson scored 14 points apiece, and Taylor added 10.
