KANSAS CITY, Mo. (AP) — The Cincinnati Bengals and Kansas City Chiefs could be without several starters on their already porous defenses when they meet Sunday night at Arrowhead Stadium. The Bengals ruled out first-round pick Darqueze Dennard with a shoulder injury and linebacker Nick Vigil with a knee injury while safety Shawn Williams is questionable with a concussion. The Chiefs are expected to be without Eric Berry (heel) and Justin Houston (hamstring), who are both listed as doubtful.

IOWA CITY, Iowa (AP) — A prominent youth basketball coach in Iowa has admitted to possessing nude photos and videos of 400 boys, including former players and their friends. Former Iowa Barnstormers Coach Greg Stephen pleaded guilty Thursday to sexually exploiting minors and possessing and transporting child pornography. He acknowledged in a plea agreement that police discovered files on his hard drive containing videos or photos including images of the boys undressing, showering and sleeping.

KANSAS CITY, Kan. (AP) — Clint Bowyer plans to be in quite a hurry Sunday. First, he’ll be in a hurry in trying to win the checkered flag at Kansas Speedway, where the Emporia, Kansas, native is trying to earn a spot in the next round of NASCAR’s playoffs. Then, he’ll be in a hurry to Arrowhead Stadium, where he’ll root on his beloved Chiefs in a primetime game against Cincinnati.

KANSAS CITY, Kan. (AP) — Joey Logano won the pole for the Cup Series elimination race at Kansas Speedway. He heads into Sunday’s event in solid position to advance to the round of eight, but the chance to start up front only help those hopes. Kevin Harvick, Aric Almirola, Ryan Blaney and Brad Keselowski rounded out a top-five of playoff contenders.

KANSAS CITY, Kan. (AP) — Kyle Larson’s appeal of a rules violation from last week’s race at Talladega has been denied. It’s a blow to the Chip Ganassi Racing driver’s chances of advancing in NASCAR’s playoffs. Larson was docked 10 points, crew chiefs Chad Johnston was fined $25,000 and car chief David Bryant was suspended for Sunday’s race at Kansas Speedway. Officials determined the team used unapproved metal tabs in violation of NASCAR’s policy on damaged vehicles.

KANSAS CITY, Kan. (AP) — Sheldon Creed locked up the ARCA Series title on Friday by rolling off pit lane for practice in the series. That alone gave the 21-year-old Californian enough points to secure the championship in his first full season in the developmental series.
