ISU suspends women’s basketball guard Nikki Moody

Sports

November 1st, 2014 by admin

(AP) – Iowa State University says it has suspended indefinitely senior women’s basketball guard Nikki Moody for violations of team rules.

Coach Bill Fennelly says in a statement Friday Moody’s “attitude in the team setting has become a distraction to our learning environment.”

He says the team has high behavioral standards and Moody’s “behavior has been inconsistent with those values.” He says she can return to the team activities if and when improvement is seen.

There was no further explanation of what type of behavior led to the suspension.

Moody, a communications studies major, started 30 games last season for the Cyclones, averaging 12.5 points, 4.4 rebounds and 5.3 assists per game.
