Fort Dodge woman gets 10 years in prison for reckless driving death

(Radio Iowa) – A Fort Dodge woman is sentenced after a fatal crash more than two years ago. Twenty-six-year-old Aisha Ismail was sentenced to up to ten years in prison on a charge of vehicular homicide by reckless driving. The sentence stems from a crash in Webster County that killed a Humboldt man in 2018.

According to the Iowa State Patrol Ismail attempted to pass a truck on a two lane road and collided with another vehicle. The driver of that vehicle was pronounced dead at the scene. Ismail was on probation stemming from an incident in 2017. Her sentence is this case will run consecutive to the one she’s serving for that offense.

Iowa electrical lineman shocked on the job in Oklahoma

An Iowa electrical lineman is in critical condition after getting shocked on the job. KCCI says the MidAmerican Energy worker is in Oklahoma to help restore power after an historic ice storm last week. First responders said the lineman experienced a “very strong electrical shock.” The lineman is now in the hospital. Oklahoma City Fire said the worker was lowered by his own crew into a work bucket so firefighters could reach him. The man’s name has not been released.

Stanton man arrested for OWI/2nd

An investigation into a report of a vehicle parked in the middle of a road in Montgomery County, Monday afternoon, resulted in an arrest. A vehicle driven by 61-year old Keith D. Hansen, of Stanton, was seen parked at the intersection of 140th Street and O Avenue, at around 4:05-p.m.  Hansen was located and transported to the Montgomery County Jail, where he was charged with OWI/2nd offense. Bond was set at $2,000.

Creston woman arrested on a warrant for sexual exploitation of a minor

The Creston Police Department reports a Creston woman was arrested Monday afternoon at the Union County Law Enforcement Center. 20-year-old Amber Keilman was taken into custody on an Adams County warrant for Sexual Exploitation of a Minor. Keilman was transferred to the custody of the Adams County Sheriff’s Department.

And, 57-year-old Timothy Fechter, of Creston, was arrested Monday afternoon at his residence, for Assault while displaying a dangerous weapon. He was later released on a $2,000 bond.

Creston Police said also, a man residing in the 300 block of N. Spruce Street, reported Monday morning, that sometime overnight, someone stole the front license plate off of his vehicle, while it was parked at his residence. The personalized plate was valued at $60.

Frederickson Fund donates $500 for Washington/Schuler Libraries (Atlantic School District)

The Trevor Frederickson Memorial Fund recently donated $500 to Janice Dickerson with the Atlantic Community Schools, to purchase books for the Washington and Schuler libraries.  Fund spokesperson Melanie Petty says the Atlantic School Foundation will match donations up to $2,000, for non-fiction books.  Petty says Trevor was an avid reader, and the fund has enjoyed being able to help the school libraries get new books each year since his death in 2009.

The annual TFred Memorial Golf Tournament raises money each year to give back to the things Trevor loved.  Petty says “We are blessed with a very giving community.  Each year we are able to do amazing things in Trevors name and we look forward to continuing on for years to come.”  Watch/listen to local media or checkout the Fund’s Facebook page to keep up on what they are accomplishing.
