Playoff basketball continues tonight and we’ll have a Class 1A District 14 Quarterfinal doubleheader from Stanton on KJAN.

The first game will feature the 15-5 CAM Cougars against the 10-11 East Mills Wolverines. CAM won the regular season meeting 69-27 back on December 18th.

The second game will have the 18-1 Stanton Vikings against the 2-19 Griswold Tigers. Griswold handed Stanton their lone loss of the season 63-56 back on December 18th as well.

Chris Parks and Mike Smith will have the call of the games starting with pregame at 6:20pm from Stanton.

The 2018 State Individual Wrestling Tournament begins today at Wells Fargo Arena in Des Moines. Keep it tuned to KJAN and locked into the sports page at KJAN.com to keep up to date with the latest results for area wrestlers. Jim Field will be bringing you live updates throughout the tournament and Justin Williams will join him for hold-by-hold coverage of the Finals on Saturday night.

The Atlantic-CAM wrestling team has four wrestlers competing at the tourney. Kole Hansen (126), Chase McLaren (132), Connor Pellett (160), and John McConkey (285) will begin their medal quests today.

JUPITER, Fla. (AP) — Pitcher Bud Norris and the St. Louis Cardinals finalized a $3 million, one-year contract on Wednesday as the team started spring training workouts.

The 32-year-old right-hander led the Los Angeles Angels with 19 saves in 23 chances last season. He went 2-6 with a 4.23 ERA in three starts and 57 relief appearances, striking out 74 in 62 innings.

He is 68-84 with a 4.49 ERA over nine major league seasons, making 188 starts and 103 relief appearances with Houston (2009-13), Baltimore (2013-15), San Diego (2015), Atlanta (2016), the Los Angeles Dodgers (2016) and the Angels.

He can earn additional performance bonuses. To clear a roster spot, right-hander Rowan Wick was designated for assignment.
