OWI arrest in Adams County Sunday evening

A Taylor County man was arrested a little after 7-p.m. Sunday for OWI/3rd or subsequent offense. Timothy Dean Coleman, of Clearfield, was arrested at Highway 34 and Notchwood Avenue in Adams County, following a traffic stop on a vehicle traveling 74 mph in a 55 mph zone.

Coleman was taken into custody after he failed Standardized Field Sobriety Tests and registered a BAC of nearly double the legal limit. He was brought to the Adams County Jail and held on a $5,000 cash-only bond.

NE woman arrested for OWI in Montgomery County

A woman from Nebraska was arrested following a traffic stop in Villisca at around 8:25-p.m. Sunday, in Montgomery County. Authorities say 44-year old Shantel M. Keller, of Palmyra, NE., was arrested for OWI/1st offense.

Keller was being held in the Montgomery County Jail on a $1,000 bond.

2 from Shenandoah arrested on drug charges in Fremont County

Fremont County Sheriff Kevin Aistrope reports Deputies of the Fremont County Sheriff’s Office conducted a traffic stop Sunday evening on highway 59 north of Shenandoah. During the course of the stop, two Shenandoah residents were arrested for possession of methamphetamine with the intent to distribute.

37 year old Dustin Lee Mattox and 39 year old James Stouder were both transported to the Fremont County Law Enforcement Center for the possession of approximately 3 ounces of methamphetamine. Dustin Mattox was also charged with 2 counts of delivery of methamphetamine.

Mattox is currently being held on $45,000 cash bond while Stouder is being held no bond awaiting appearance from the magistrate.

Wieters’ shot off Brad Wieck reached the balcony on the fourth level of the Western Metal Supply Co. Building in the left-field corner. Manny Machado hit a two-run homer for the Padres, giving him 20 this season.

DETROIT (AP) — Nate Lashley completed an unlikely wire-to-wire victory in the Rocket Mortgage Classic for his first PGA Tour title. Lashley closed with a 2-under 70 to finish at 25-under 263 and win by six shots, the margin he took into the day after opening with rounds of 63, 67 and 63.

JEFFERSON, Iowa (AP) — Toronto coach Nick Nurse’s improbable path to the NBA title began in Iowa as a guard for Carroll Kuemper High way back in the 1980s. Carroll returned to his home state this weekend for a celebration of a career _ a weekend that included a family reunion on a farm outside of tiny Churdan, Iowa, where the late mother grew up. Carroll was feted by local celebrities and scores of folks he grew up with in Carroll at the Wild Rose Casino in Jefferson

TORONTO (AP) — Jorge Soler homered and had two RBIs, Brad Keller pitched five innings to win for the first time since May 22 and the Kansas City Royals beat the Toronto Blue Jays 7-6. Soler reached base three times as the Royals snapped a three-game losing streak and won for the first time in six games north of the border. Whit Merrifield reached base three times and Alex Gordon drove in a pair for Kansas City.

SAN DIEGO (AP) — The St. Louis Cardinals have placed outfielder Marcell Ozuna on the injured list with a fracture at the base of his right middle finger. Ozuna was injured Friday night when he dived back into the bag as he was being picked off.

DES MOINES, Iowa (AP) — Three additional cases of a dog disease that can be passes to humans have been linked to an Iowa breeder. The Iowa Department of Agriculture and Land Stewardship says three additional cases of canine brucellosis have been confirmed in dogs linked to a commercial breeding facility for small dogs in Marion County.

LINCOLN, Neb. (AP) — Nebraska voters may decide next year whether to legalize casino gambling in a ballot measure that could tip the number of states that allow commercial gambling into the majority. Supporters of legalized casinos have launched a petition drive to place the issue on the 2020 ballot with financial backing from the economic development corporation owned by the Winnebago Tribe of Nebraska. The National Conference of State Legislatures says 25 states allow commercial casinos.

DES MOINES, Iowa (AP) — Police have identified a man shot to death this week in the Kirkwood Glen neighborhood of Des Moines. Police say in a news release that the victim is 41-year-old Earl Marcello Caldwell, of Des Moines. The shooting happened Friday afternoon, when officers and medics were called to the area for a report of a shooting and found Caldwell suffering from a gunshot wound. He was taken to an area hospital, where he died.

It was his fourth and came with Kolten Wong aboard on an infield single.

Carlos Martínez (2-0) pitched 2 2/3 innings of relief for the win and Dominic Leone got the final two outs for his first save.

(Update) Body of a Missouri man missing since boating accident w/an Atlantic couple, has been recovered

A collision between two boats on a southwest Missouri Lake late Saturday night resulted in one dead and an Atlantic man arrested, for allegedly Boating While Intoxicated (BWI). The Missouri State Patrol says the body of 39-year old Jason Russell, from Eugene, Missouri, was recovered in 80-feet of water at around 4:30-p.m. Sunday, more than 18-hours after the collision occurred at the four mile mark of the Osage Arm on the Lake of the Ozarks.

Russell was a passenger on a boat operated by 37-year old Bradley Siebeneck, of Holts Summit, MO. Thier boat, and a boat operated by 59-year old Kelly Wise, of Atlantic, collided at around 10-p.m. Saturday, as one vessel was traveling upstream and the other was traveling downstream.

The Missouri State Patrol says Kelly Wise suffered minor injuries during the accident. His wife Tammy suffered moderate injuries. Both were transported by EMS to Lake Regional Health System in Osage Beach, MO. Siebeneck suffered minor injuries. Two other passengers on his boat were injured., 37-year-old Nathan Sneller, of Jefferson City, MO., suffered serious injuries and was flown by air ambulance to University Hospital. 42-year-old Brian Basham of Eldon, Missouri was taken to Lake Regional for treatment of minor injuries. Both vessels sustained extensive damage.

Following an initial investigation, Wise was arrested for on an alleged BWI charge, and transported to the Miller County, MO. Jail. The Des Moines Register reports (7/1) that he has since bonded out of custody.

 

Red Oak man arrested Sunday afternoon

Police in Red Oak report the arrest at around 3:10-p.m. Sunday, of 36-year old Joseph Aaron Nelson. Nelson, who is from Red Oak, was taken into custody for Violating a No Contact/Protective Order. He was being held in the Montgomery County Jail on a $300 bond.

More cases of dog disease confirmed in Iowa

DES MOINES, Iowa (AP) — Three additional cases of a dog disease that can be passes to humans have been linked to an Iowa breeder. The Iowa Department of Agriculture and Land Stewardship says three additional cases of canine brucellosis have been confirmed in dogs linked to a commercial breeding facility for small dogs in Marion County.

Anyone who obtained dogs from the breeder Double G Kennels, which is also known as IowaPuppies.com, is encouraged to have their dogs tested. Of 200 small dogs sold during a sale at the kennel in May, nine have tested positive for the disease.

Signs of the disease in a dog include infertility, spontaneous abortions and stillbirths. State health officials say symptoms for humans include fever, sweats, headache, joint pain and weakness.

The department says the threat to most pet owners is very low.
