CCHS relocates multiple providers w/in the AMC

News

March 16th, 2020 by Ric Hanson

Atlantic, IA — Officials with the Cass County Health System report they have relocated multiple providers within Atlantic Medical Center in an effort to separate patients who are being tested for COVID-19 from other patients. This specifically includes Suite C of Atlantic Medical Center; OB/GYN providers have been moved out of this area in an effort to protect expectant mothers, who are considered high risk for severe illness from COVID-19. Other providers have also temporarily moved within the facility. The process for checking in remains the same, and nursing staff will still escort patients to the appropriate exam rooms.

Atlantic Medical Center Rapid Care is still operating as usual; AMC Rapid Care patients are seen in a separate hallway from those being tested for COVID-19 testing. All patients who meet the current guidelines for COVID-19 testing are directed to call 712-243-2850 BEFORE coming to any CCHS facility. These patients will be directed to a separate entrance.

News

March 16th, 2020 by Ric Hanson

Audubon School District Superintendent Eric Trager reports today, “We will be closing school for the next four weeks following the governors recommendations last night. We understand this is an incredible measure to take but don’t really have any choice but to follow recommendations. Announcements concerning meals, e-learning, and other services will follow in the next couple of days when we get more guidance from the state. In the meantime, please continue to check your email and the school’s social media.”

The district joins numerous others across western and southwest Iowa that are heeding the recommendation from Public Health officials and the Governor, to close for up to four weeks, in order to curb the spread of the COVID-19 virus.
