2 women arrested on drug charges after I-29 traffic stop

A traffic stop on Interstate 29 in Mills County, Wednesday night, resulted in two arrests. Sheriff’s officials say 61-year old Kim Jane Marie Canapp, and 48-year old April Dawn Camden, both of Council Bluffs, were arrested on drug charges at around 9-p.m.  Camden faces charges that include Possession of a Controlled Substance (PCS), Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, and for having no valid driver’s license. Her bond was set at $1,000.

Canapp was charged with PCS/Delivery of a controlled substance, and unlawful possession of prescription drugs. Her bond was set at $26,000. Both women were transported to the Mills County Jail.

Iowa defense previews Michigan State

(Radio Iowa) – Iowa’s defense hopes to continue to make progress on Saturday against Michigan State. Sophomore defensive back Dane Belton feels the defense played better in a 21-20 loss to Northwestern.

Belton says the Hawkeyes are confident they can bounce back from a slow start.

Former West Des Moines Valley standout Rocky Lombardi quarterbacks the Michigan State offense. Iowa defensive end Zach VanValkenburg says Lombardi causes concerns.

VanValkenburg says the Hawkeyes have not lost confidence despite the 0-2 start.

Iowa State’s Steve Prohm previews the basketball season

(Radio Iowa) – Iowa State basketball coach Steve Prohm says improvement on a defense is a key as the Cyclones look to regain their winning ways. ISU finished 12-20 last season. It was the program’s second losing season in three years.

On of those freshmen is Oskaloosa seven-footer Xavier Foster. Prohm says Foster has missed practice time with a concussion.

A key addition is DePaul transfer Jalen Coleman-Lands at guard. Prohm says this team will be able to feature more four guard lineups.

Prohm on the keys to making progress.

ISU officials announced 1,373 fans will be allowed to attend each home game. That is 10 percent of capacity in Hilton Coliseum.

Car and a gun stolen from Creston

The Creston Police Department says a woman residing in the 400 block of N. Spruce Street, reported October 31st, the items valued at $2,900 had been stolen from her residence. The missing items were identified as being a blue, 2011 4-door Ford Focus, and a black and gold Bersa .380 handgun.

Man arrested in Adams County for FIP of a firearm

Sheriff’s Deputies in Adams County have arrested a man for being a Felon In Possession of a Firearm. 31-year old Trent Jenkins was taken into custody at around 3-a.m. Friday (today), after Deputies responded to a call about an intoxicated male with a firearm, at 2630 Highway 148, north of Bedford.
