Fourth-ranked TCU has it easy this weekend, relatively speaking. All the other College Football Playoff contenders are playing ranked teams this weekend. The Horned Frogs (10-1, 7-1, No. 3 CFP), on the other hand, will wrap up their regular season Saturday at home in Fort Worth, Texas, against lowly Iowa State (2-9, 0-8).

They hope to hold onto their spot in the selection committee’s top four and earn the right to play for the national championship. TCU even gets an early kickoff at 11 a.m. CT. The Horned Frogs can take care of business and still have plenty of time to get in front of a big screen and watch the other big games on Championship Saturday.

LINCOLN, Neb. (AP) — Mike Riley has a five-year contract at Nebraska paying him $2.7 million a year.

The terms were announced Friday before Riley was introduced at a news conference at Memorial Stadium. Nebraska hired the 61-year-old Riley away from Oregon State on Thursday.

Riley will receive automatic $100,000 increases in each of the five years of a contract that runs through Feb. 28, 2020. Riley had been the lowest-paid coach in the Pac-12, making a reported $1.5 million this year.

Former Nebraska coach Bo Pelini was paid $3.1 million this year.

Riley was 93-80, with wins in six of eight bowl games during two stints totaling 14 years at Oregon State. The Beavers were 5-7 this season.

AMES, Iowa (AP) — Bryce Dejean-Jones had 27 points, Georges Niang added 26 with eight assists and 20th-ranked Iowa State never trailed in rolling past No. 18 Arkansas 95-77 on Thursday night. Dustin Hogue scored 14 for the Cyclones (5-1), who led by as many as 23 points in extending their non-conference home winning streak to 24 games.

Iowa State’s fast-break offense overwhelmed the Razorbacks (6-1) from the opening tip. The Cyclones took their first double-digit lead less than six minutes in and led 52-32 at the break. Bobby Portis scored 19 to lead the Razorbacks (6-1), who haven’t won a road game as a ranked team since 1999.

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (AP) — Sara Hammond scored a season-high 19 points, Myisha Hines Allen added 16 and No. 7 Louisville ran away quickly from No. 22 Iowa for an 86-52 rout Thursday night in the ACC/Big Ten Challenge.

Seeking a good tuneup before Sunday’s Bluegrass battle against No. 13 Kentucky, the Cardinals (8-0) never trailed in racing to an impressive first win over a ranked team this season. Hammond’s 9-of-13 shooting led Louisville’s 35-of-66 performance from the field, its fifth 50-percent shooting effort this season; the Cardinals held the Hawkeyes (6-2) to 30 percent.

Freshman Mariya Moore had 12 points and six assists, and senior guard Bria Smith added 10 points and seven rebounds for the Cardinals, who dominated the Hawkeyes 58-32 in the paint along with outrebounding them 50-38.

Bethany Doolittle scored 12 points for Iowa, which fell to 0-2 against Louisville, with both meetings coming this year.

LINCOLN, Neb. (AP) – Nebraska has hired Oregon State’s Mike Riley as its new football coach, replacing the fired Bo Pelini. Athletic director Shawn Eichorst announced Riley’s hiring on Thursday. Riley has spent 14 seasons over two tenures at Oregon State, leading the Beavers to 93 wins and a 6-2 record in bowl games.

Riley is a native of Idaho and a graduate of Alabama, where he played for Paul “Bear” Bryant. Riley will be introduced at a news conference Friday. He’ll take over immediately but will not coach the Cornhuskers in their bowl game. Nebraska assistant Barney Cotton is interim head coach.

Oregon State finished this season 5-7 overall, 2-7 in the Pac-12.
