Clemson, Alabama, Ohio State and Notre Dame remained at the top of the College Football Playoff selection committee rankings. Iowa stayed at No. 5 and Oklahoma State moved up to No. 6, one spot ahead of Big 12 rival Oklahoma.
Clemson, Alabama and Ohio State seem to have control of their playoff hopes. If those three win out it looks as if they should be in. The highest ranked Pac-12 team was Stanford at No. 11. The Pac-12 will need a lot of help to avoid being left out of the final four the way the Big 12 was last season.
Navy was the highest-ranked Group of Five team and American Athletic Conference rival Houston was No. 19. The Midshipmen and Cougars play each other on Nov. 27.
KANSAS CITY, Mo. (AP) — The Chiefs have placed rookie tight end James O’Shaughnessy on injured reserve and claimed defensive tackle David King off waivers from the Seattle Seahawks. The Chiefs announced the moves Tuesday. O’Shaughnessy, their fifth-round pick this year, has missed Kansas City’s past two games with a fractured foot. He caught six passes for 87 yards during his rookie season.
The Chiefs have used Demetrius Harris and Brian Parker in his place during wins over Detroit and Denver. They will continue to share duties alongside starting tight end Travis Kelce. King was a seventh-round pick of the Philadelphia Eagles in 2013. He’s played in seven games over the past two seasons with Seattle.
CEDAR FALLS, Iowa (AP) — Matt Bohannon and Paul Jesperson scored 15 points apiece and Jeremy Morgan and Wes Washpun had 14 each, leading Northern Iowa to a 70-60 victory over Stephen F. Austin on Tuesday.
The Panthers (1-1) led the entire game, increasing its 40-26 halftime advantage to 19 points on Bohanon’s 3-pointer early in the second half. T.J. Holyfield’s tip-in cut it to 58-50 with 4 minutes left, but the Lumberjacks (0-2) got no closer.
Stephen F. Austin’s Thomas Walkup scored 30 points on 12-of-20 shooting from the field, and he added eight rebounds, three assists and a steal. Ty Charles had three steals to go with his eight points.
Northern Iowa survived 17 turnovers by holding the Lumberjacks to 36-percent shooting (22 of 62).
The Panthers beat Stephen F. Austin for the second straight year. Last season they ended the Lumberjacks’ 34-game home win streak with a 79-77 victory.
BOONE, IOWA – The State Wrestling Championship has been a sold out event for over 20 years and is the only IHSAA reserved ticket event. On October 28, 2015, the Board of Control of the Iowa High School Athletic Association approved the procedure for the purchase of 2016 State Wrestling Tournament finals tickets. Tickets will continue to be sold through either a walk up process or online.
Under this ticketing system, schools have the first opportunity to purchase tickets. Ticket sales to IHSAA member high schools who host wrestling programs will begin Monday, December 1, 2015 at 10:00am and close Tuesday, December 2, 2015 at 11:59pm. The order limit is a maximum of sixty (60) tickets per school. Complete information regarding the ticket ordering process for IHSAA member high schools hosting wrestling programs has been communicated with them.
Tickets will go on sale to the general public on Monday, December 7, 2015 at 10:00am. The public will be able to purchase tickets at the Iowa Events Center ticket office or online at www.hy-veetix.com or by calling 1-844-55-HYVEE. The order limit will be ten (10) tickets.
The ticket price is $10.00 per ticket, plus a convenience fee of $1.75 per ticket. There will be a $4.00 handling fee per order. A valid credit card will be needed to make an online purchase. The Iowa Events Center seating chart will be available identifying class 1A, 2A, and 3A mats. All seats will be assigned in the order the transactions are processed either at a ticketing location or online.

AMES, Iowa (AP) — Jameel McKay scored a career-high 25 points with 11 rebounds, and No. 7 Iowa State rolled past Chicago State 106-64 Monday night in coach Steve Prohm’s home debut. Abdel Nader had 17 points and nine rebounds for the Cyclones (2-0), who won their 18th consecutive opener at Hilton Coliseum.
Iowa State let Chicago State (1-1) hang around in the first half. But the Cyclones opened the second with a 13-0 run to go ahead 62-35. Elliott Cole had points 18 for Chicago State. The Cougars were outrebounded 53-32.
NEW ORLEANS (AP) — Louis Dabney and Malik Morgan each scored 18 points, leading Tulane to a 79-74 overtime win against Drake on Monday night. After two free throws from Dabney gave the Green Wave a 69-67 lead in regulation, Dominik Olejniczak’s dunk tied it up with 39 seconds left. Dabney missed a jumper, and the Bulldogs had two attempts to take the lead, but neither fell.
Morgan scored 6 of Tulane’s 10 points in overtime to lift the Green Wave (1-1). He was 7 of 14 from the field and grabbed six rebounds. Dylan Osetkowski had 7 points and seven rebounds, and his steal with 25 seconds left forced Drake to foul, sending Morgan to the line for two clinching free throws.
Graham Woodward had 20 points on 7-of-14 shooting for Drake. Reed Timmer had 19 points and five rebounds. Tulane scored 17 points off Drake’s 21 turnovers.
North Carolina is No. 1 in the first regular-season men’s college basketball poll by The Associated Press after opening with victories over Temple and Fairfield. The Tar Heels were the preseason No. 1 for a record ninth time. They received 37 first-place votes Monday from the 65-member national media panel — 29 more than second-place Kentucky. Maryland is third with 14 first-place votes and Kansas is fourth with five first-place votes.
Defending national champion Duke is fifth and followed by Virginia, which had the other first-place vote. Iowa State, Oklahoma, Wichita State and Gonzaga round out the top 10. Oregon won its opener and joined the poll at No. 25. Wisconsin dropped out from 17th after losing to Western Illinois and beating Siena.
