(He says the Board voted 5-0 to leave the WIC Conference and join the Corner Conference, beginning with the 2018-19 school year.)
Henrichs said there were many factors considered in making the decision.
(He says some include comparable school sizes, closer travel, a comparison of activities, and because it was a better fit for the district’s students.)
The Rolling Valley Conference held boys and girls golf meets on Monday. The girls meet was held in Carroll and hosted by Glidden-Ralston. Boyer Valley came away with the crown shooting a 200. Exira-EHK was Runner-Up with a 220.
The boys meet was hosted by Boyer Valley in Dunlap with Exira-EHK taking the title shooting a 165. Gage Lauritsen and William Carroll both shot 40 for the Spartans to lead the meet.
The Atlantic girls golf team placed third at the West Des Moines Valley golf tournament on Monday. The tournament was played at Willow Creek Golf Course in Des Moines. Johnston took the overall title and Waukee was second. Atlantic’s top golfer was Brooke Newell finishing in 4th place with a round of 79.
