Here is the latest Mid-America sports news from The Associated Press

CINCINNATI (AP) — Make it 13 and counting! Yadier Molina doubled with the bases loaded, and Michael Wacha pitched two-run ball into the sixth inning, leading the St. Louis Cardinals to a 6-4 victory and their 13th straight win over the Reds. The Cardinals also homered three times as they extended their second-longest streak of domination in a rivalry that goes back to the 1800s. St. Louis has also won 11 straight in Cincinnati.

OAKLAND, Calif. (AP) — Danny Duffy pitched seven innings of three-hit ball, and the Kansas City Royals snapped a six-game skid with a 2-0 victory over the Oakland Athletics. Duffy struck out a season-high 10 and walked three, and two relievers completed the four-hitter. Chris Bassitt also allowed three hits in seven innings in his first appearance since undergoing Tommy John surgery on May 6, 2016. He struck out six and walked one, allowing one run.

DES MOINES, Iowa (AP) — Tom Lehman shot a 7-under 65 on Saturday to take a two-shot lead into the final round of the PGA Tour Champions’ Principal Charity Classic. CINCINNATI (AP) — Yadier Molina doubled with the bases loaded, and Michael Wacha pitched two-run ball into the sixth inning Saturday, leading the St. Louis Cardinals to a 6-4 victory and their 13th straight win over the Reds.

The Cardinals also homered three times as they extended their second-longest streak of domination in a rivalry that goes back to the 1800s. They beat them 18 times in a row in 1930-31. St. Louis has also won 11 straight in Cincinnati, its longest such streak since it first visited the city in 1892. The Cardinals’ longest road winning streak against any club is 18 in a row at Pittsburgh’s Forbes Field from 1964-66.

The two Cardinals with impressive career numbers against Cincinnati led the way.
Wacha (8-1) gave up Eugenio Suarez’s two-run homer in 5 2/3 innings for his 11th career win against the Reds, tying Jaime Garcia and Lance Lynn for most among active pitchers. The Cardinals have won his last 13 starts against Cincinnati, and Wacha is 10-0 with a 2.48 ERA during that span.

Up  nextt for the Cardinals: Carlos Martinez (3-2, 1.83) makes his second start since returning from a strained muscle in his right side. He lasted only four innings and walked five in a 7-4 loss to Miami on Tuesday.

DES MOINES, Iowa (AP) — Tom Lehman shot a 7-under 65 on Saturday to take a two-shot lead into the final round of the PGA Tour Champions’ Principal Charity Classic in Iowa. Lehman eagled the par-5 eighth and played a 10-hole stretch in 7 under before dropping a stroke on the par-4 18th. He had a 13-under 131 total, the best two-round score at Wakonda Club in Des Moines.

From neighboring Minnesota, Lehman has finished in the top 10 in each of his first six appearances in Iowa, but the 1996 British Open champion has never won the event. First-round leader Bernhard Langer had a 69 to fall into a tie for second with Glen Day (68), Woody Austin (68) and Scott Parel (66).
