The Pride of Iowa Conference Golf Championships were held on Tuesday with East Union taking the boys title and Mount Ayr taking the girls crown.

The Girls tournament was held in Leon, while the boys played in Lenox.

Atlantic Head Coach Kathy Hobson: “This was a great team victory for us as we head into our tournament season leading up to regionals.  McKenna played the front lights out, shooting a 40; she finished with an 89 – very proud of her.  Brooke sank a 25′ putt on #17 for birdie.  She played even on the back 9.  Alyssa and Baylee were steady all day.

Big outing in Sioux City Wednesday – should be very competitive.  Also good for us to go back to back days with 18 hole tournaments.”

The Atlantic boys golf team hosted the Trojan Tournament on Tuesday at Atlantic Golf and Country Club.

The Iowa Hawkeye baseball team had a four game winning streak snapped, Tuesday. The Hawks gave up six runs in the first three innings and lost at Western Illinois 7-5. After getting to a season-high 12 games above .500 the Hawkeyes fall to 27-16 on the season. Iowa visits Michigan State for a three game Big Ten series beginning Friday.
