DES MOINES, Iowa (AP) — Anthony Murphy posted career highs scoring 20 points and grabbing 13 rebounds and Drake beat Evansville 85-80. Evansville led 40-34 at halftime before Drake started the second half with a 13-0 run and never trailed again. Sam Cunliffe’s 3-pointer with a minute to go brought the Purple Aces within 72-76 but the Bulldogs made all eight of their foul shots in the last 46 seconds. Cunliffe led Evansville with 25 points.

The Exira-Elk Horn-Kimballton School Board will hold a Public Hearing a little after they convene their meeting 6-p.m. Monday, in the Conference Room at the Elk Horn Building. The hearing is with regard to a proposed 2020-21 School Calendar.

Both lanes of Interstate 80 eastbound in Pottawattamie County were blocked for at least a couple of hours Sunday, following a semi tractor-trailer rollover accident that took place late Sunday morning. The crash took place at mile marker 36, near Avoca. A detour is in operation was in operation until the wreck could be removed from the travel portion of the road. The road was reopened to both lanes at around 1:30-p.m.

Two people from southeast Iowa were injured during a single-vehicle crash Sunday morning, in Henry County. The Iowa State Patrol reports the driver of a 2002 Jeep Grand Cherokee, 19-year old Wyatt R. Barbison, of Brighton, was flown by helicopter to the University of Iowa Hospital in Iowa City, after he failed to negotiate a right turn at the intersection of Ash Avenue and 120th Street. The SUV went off the west side of the road and struck a tree. The accident happened at around 7:35-a.m.
A passenger in the vehicle, 19-year old Nathaniel B. Reynolds, of Mt. Pleasant, was also injured. No report on their conditions was immediately available. The Patrol says neither man was wearing a seat belt. The accident remains under investigation.
DES MOINES, Iowa (AP) — Authorities say an investigation into animal treatment at an Iowa state lawmaker’s hog farm found no evidence that animals were being abused despite video that a group posted that appeared to show otherwise. Two people with California-based Direct Action Everywhere entered a hog farm last spring owned by Republican Iowa state Sen. Ken Rozenboom.
Mahaska County Sheriff Russell Van Renterghem says an investigation didn’t find any abuse. Rozenboom said he decided in December to lease the hog building to a different farmer. He has said veterinary records show the herd was being treated for a respiratory infection that contributed to the problems Direct Action Everywhere documented.
MINNEAPOLIS (AP) — Luka Garza scored 24 points and Ryan Kreiner added 10 points as No. 21 Iowa came back to beat the Minnesota Gophers 58-55. Minnesota’s Daniel Oturu missed the front end of a one-and-one free-throw attempt with a chance to tie the game with 3.8 seconds left and the Hawkeyes came away with a rare road win in the Big Ten. Iowa trailed by eight points with 5:25 remaining but finished the game on an 11-0 run. Oturu scored 15 points and Marcus Carr added 10 points, eight rebounds and six assists for Minnesota.
JUPITER, Fla. (AP) — St. Louis Cardinals pitcher Miles Mikolas was scratched from his second bullpen session of the spring because of a flexor tendon issue. Manager Mike Shildt said the Cardinals hope to have a more concrete time frame for Mikolas return to the mound in a day or two. Mikolas entered this spring as one of four pitchers expected to be in the Cardinals rotation, joining Jack Flaherty, Dakota Hudson and Adam Wainwright.

BOTTOM LINE: Kansas looks for its 10th straight conference win against Iowa State. Kansas’ last Big 12 loss came against the Baylor Bears 67-55 on Jan. 11. Iowa State blew out Texas by 29 in its last outing.
TEAM LEADERSHIP: Kansas’ Devon Dotson has averaged 17.2 points, four rebounds and 4.2 assists while Udoka Azubuike has put up 12.8 points, 9.9 rebounds and 2.6 blocks. For the Cyclones, Tyrese Haliburton has averaged 13.4 points, 5.2 rebounds and 5.7 assists while Rasir Bolton has put up 14.7 points.
DEFENSIVE IMPROVEMENTS: The Jayhawks have given up only 57.5 points per game to Big 12 opponents so far, an improvement from the 62.8 per game they allowed to non-conference foes.
CREATING OFFENSE: Dotson has made or assisted on 47 percent of all Kansas field goals over the last three games. The sophomore guard has accounted for 18 field goals and 18 assists in those games.

PERFECT WHEN: Iowa State is a perfect 6-0 when the team blocks at least seven opposing shots. The Cyclones are 5-14 this season when they block fewer than seven shots.
GETTING DEFENSIVE: The sturdy Kansas defense has held opponents to 60.2 points per game, the eighth-lowest mark in Division I. Iowa State has given up an average of 71.9 points through 25 games (ranking the Cyclones 226th).
