Saturday’s High in Atlantic was 79. Our 24-hour low through 7-a.m. today was 61. At 7-a.m. it was 64.

Today Mostly sunny, with a high near 86. Breezy, with a south wind 8 to 18 mph, with gusts as high as 29 mph.                                                                                                                                                                             Tonight Mostly clear, with a low around 70. South wind 9 to 14 mph.

Monday Mostly sunny, with a high near 91. Heat index values as high as 102. South wind 9 to 15 mph, with gusts as high as 21 mph.
Monday Night Partly cloudy, with a low around 75. South wind 10 to 13 mph.

Tuesday A 20 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms. Mostly sunny, with a high near 94. South southwest wind 7 to 10 mph. Heat Index 105-110.
Tuesday Night A 20 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms before 1am. Partly cloudy, with a low around 71.

Wednesday Mostly sunny, with a high near 84.

THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICES REPORTS THE HOTTEST WEATHER OF THE SUMMER SO FAR WILL ARRIVE MONDAY AND TUESDAY IN THE KJAN LISTENING AREA.

A SOUTHERLY FLOW OF VERY WARM AND HUMID AIR WILL OVERSPREAD THE STATE FOR THE FIRST PART OF THE WEEK. TEMPERATURES WILL REACH THE LOWER TO MIDDLE 90S BOTH DAYS. IT WILL FEEL MUCH WARMER AS DEW POINT TEMPERATURES CLIMB INTO THE MIDDLE 70S.

THIS COMBINATION WILL PRODUCE HEAT INDICES IN THE 100 TO 105 DEGREE RANGE MONDAY AFTERNOON…AND IN THE 105 TO 110 DEGREE RANGE TUESDAY AFTERNOON. IN ADDITION…HEAT INDEX VALUES ARE NOT LIKELY TO FALL BELOW THE MID 70S MONDAY NIGHT.
