The seventh ranked Iowa State men will open the Big-12 Tournament on Wednesday against Arizona State. The Cyclones got a couple of practice sessions in on the new glass floor at the T-Mobile Center in Kansas City.
That’s ISU coach T.J. Otzelberger. The tournament will feature five teams ranked in the top 16 in the latest AP Poll.
With a victory on Wednesday the Cyclones will advance to play 16th ranked Texas Tech in Thursday’s quarterfinals.
Otzelberger has built a consistent winner at ISU. This is the third straight season the Cyclones have won 25 games or more.
Arizona State held off a late rally by Baylor for an 83-79 victory in today’s tournament opener. The Cyclones beat the Sun Devils just three days ago in Ames to close the regular season.
