The Iowa Hawkeye baseball team opens the Big Ten race on Friday with the first of a three game series at Penn State. The Hawkeyes has overcome some key injuries to the lineup and pitching staff and take an 11-5 record into the start of conference play.
That’s Iowa coach Rick Heller who says injuries have left the starting rotation with question marks. Sophomore Jaron Bleeker will start the opener against the Nittany Lions after getting his first start a week ago against Lindenwood.
Senior Logan Runde is returning from injury and is the scheduled starter for Saturday. The starter in the series finale has not been determined.
Penn State enters conference play with a record of 4-11.
