THOMAS JOSEPH SCHMITZ, 79, of Harlan, died Wed., Feb. 11, 2026, at home. A Mass of Christian Burial for THOMAS SCHMITZ will be held 11-a.m. Thursday, Feb. 19,2026, at St. Michael’s Catholic Church, in Harlan. Pauley-Jones Funeral Home in Harlan has the arrangements.

Visitation at St. Michael’s Catholic Church will be held on Thursday, from 9-until 11-a.m.

Burial is in the Pleasant Ridge Cemetery in Harlan.

His wife – Beverly Schmitz, of Harlan.

His son -Mark (Jill) Schmitz, of Panama.

His daughters – Tamara (Christopher) Lynam, of Overland Park, KS, and Becky Schmitz (& Jonathan Smith) of Durham, NC.

His sisters – Margaret “Peg” Petsche, of Portsmouth; Patricia (Fred) Puckett, of Greeley, CO; Lolita Malone, of Audubon, and Janet (Don) Altman, of Golden, CO.

8 grandchildren; other relatives and many friends.
