No. 13 Iowa women beat No. 6 Michigan
February 22nd, 2026 by Ric Hanson
The 13th ranked Iowa women outscored sixth ranked Michigan 20-9 in the fourth quarter and raced away to a 62-44 win in Iowa City. It was a happy Senior Day for the Hawkeyes who have tied the Wolverines for second in the Big Ten at 13-3.
That’s Iowa coach Jan Jensen. Defense was the key as the Hawkeyes limited Michigan to less than 31 percent shooting.
Ava Heiden led the way with 24 points and 10 rebounds and the Hawkeyes connected on their final nine shots of the game to move to 22-5 overall.
