Iowa State coach T.J. Otzelberger says he does not pay attention to the national rankings. The Cyclones are 16-0 overall and 3-0 in the Big 12 heading into tomorrow night’s game at Kansas. They are up to second in the latest AP top 25. They climbed to second in the poll exactly one year ago.

Otzelberger says wherever they are ranked the only focus is on improvement.

Kansas enters Tuesday night’s game with a record of 11-5 overall and 1-2 in the Big 12 after a road loss to West Virginia.

Otzelberger says the Jayhawks played a demanding non-conference schedule that included losses to Duke, North Carolina and UConn.

Kansas star freshman Darryn Peterson has missed several games due to leg injuries but he enters Tuesday night averaging better than 22-and-a-half points per game.

For Cyclone senior guard Tamin Lipsey it will be a final chance to get a win in Allen Fieldhouse.

Iowa State’s last win at Kansas was back in 2017, their only victory in Allen Fieldhouse since 2005.

Lipsey says a key to a big road win is keeping the crowd out of the game.

ISU freshman guard Killyan Toure is a native of France and says even though he grew up overseas he knew about Kansas and Allen Fieldhouse.
