Lorimor man arrested Friday on Sexual Abuse charges

(Creston, IA) – The Union County Sheriff’s Office (USCO), today (Sunday) said deputies on Friday, January 16, 2026, arrested 70-year-old Douglas Reuter, of rural Lorimor. Reuter was charged with two (2) counts of Sexual Abuse in the Third Degree. His arrest was part of a multi-victim sexual abuse investigation conducted by the USCO and the Iowa Division of Criminal Investigation (DCI). As detailed in the criminal complaint, Reuter is accused of sexually abusing juveniles at his home.
Deputies and agents are continuing the investigation and additional charges are possible.

The Sheriff’s Office said in their news release, “Law enforcement in Union County is committed to fully investigation allegations of sexual abuse. Anyone with information about this investigation is asked to contact the Union County Sheriff’s Office at 641-782-8402. Anyone experiencing sexual abuse or with knowledge of sexual abuse being committed is encouraged to contact their local law enforcement or Iowa Victim Services Hotline at 1-800-770-1650.”
