DENNIS “Chester” JOHNSON, 78, of Fontanelle, died Thursday, January 29, 2026, at his home.  A graveside service for DENNIS “Chester” JOHNSON will be Feb. 13th in the Iowa Veterans Cemetery near Van Meter, beginning at 9:30-a.m., with full military honor by the Fontanelle American Legion Carlson Post #247, Greenfield Head Endres Post #265, and VFW Post 5337, along with Navy Funeral Honors. A Celebration of Life for Chester Johnson will take place at 11-a.m. on Feb. 13th, at Emmanuel Lutheran Church in Fontanelle. Lamb Funeral Home in Fontanelle has the arrangements.

Visitation will be held at Emmanuel Lutheran Church in Fontanelle, on Feb. 12th, from 2-until 7-p.m., with the family greeting friends from 5-until 7-p.m.

 Memorials:  May be directed to the family to be established at a later date.

His wife – Wanda Johnson.

His daughter – Jennifer (Heathcliffe) Riday.

His sons – Joshua (Erica) Johnson, and Jeffery (Tiffany) Johnson.

His brothers – Randy (Patty) Johnson, and Craig (Stephanie) Johnson.

11 grandchildren; His sisters-in-law Linda (Gary) Thompson and Joan (Craig) Burnett; brother-in-law Robert Marckmann and other relatives.
