2 injured in a northeast Iowa crash Friday evening

(Buchanan County, IA) – A collision Friday evening near Oelwein, in northeast Iowa, resulted in two men being transported to Buchanan County Health in Oelwein. According to the Iowa State Patrol, the accident happened at around 5:40-p.m. on Highway 150, near mile marker 147.
The Patrol says a Chevy pickup driven by 46-year-old Miguel Hernandez-Piceno, of Independence, was traveling southbound on Highway 150, when the vehicle crossed the center line of the road and struck the rear, driver’s side quarter panel of a northbound Dodge pickup, driven by 36-year-old Christopher Gordon Schanbeck, of Oelwein.
The collision caused the Dodge pickup to roll over. Both men were wearing their seat belts. Schanbeck suffered from broken ribs and was transported to the hospital by Oelwein EMS. Piceno complained of chest pain, and was transported to the hospital by Fairbank EMS.
