Vehicles damaged in a Red Oak structure fire Sunday morning

(Red Oak, IA) Firefighters from Red Oak and four other area departments responded a little after 5-a.m. today (Sunday), to a fully engulfed, detached garage fire at 911 N. 4th Street, in Red Oak. According to a post on the Red Oak Fire Department’s Facebook page, the first arriving fire crews reported heavy fire coming from a detached garage, with fire extension to the residence on the south, residence to the north, and the residence to the west. One car located to the west was fully engulfed, with damage to three additional vehicles and a camper. The garage and contents were a total loss. No injuries were reported.
Damage to west residence (structure and vehicles) unknown value at time of the press release. Damage to the southern residence appears to be limited to exterior siding ( value unknown at time of report).
