The Northern Iowa men’s basketball team takes a 7-2 record into Saturday’s game at home against Oakland. Under long-time coach Greg Kampe, Oakland has become one of the top mid-major programs in the country.

That’s Panther coach Ben Jacobson. The Golden Grizzlies are 5-5 and three of the losses have been to Michigan, Purdue and Houston.

UNI is coming off an overtime loss at home to Wichita State and Jacobson says the Panthers need to be better on the defensive glass and in transition defense.
