December 9th, 2025 by Ric Hanson
The first of two nights of Cy-Hawk basketball in Hilton Coliseum begins Wednesday night with a rated clash as the 11th ranked Iowa Hawkeye women visit number 10 Iowa State. The Hawkeyes are 9-0 and have won eight of the last nine in the series.
That’s Iowa coach Jan Jensen. The matchup in the post will get most of the attention. Hawkeye sophomore center Ava Heiden is averaging 16 points and more than nine rebounds who Cyclone junior Audi Crooks is averaging nearly 27 points and shooting better than 73 percent from the floor.
Jensen says the Cyclones are more than just Crooks.
The Cyclones enter the game with a record of 10-0.
That’s ISU coach Bill Fennelly. The Cyclones will be in search of their first win in the series since a 77-70 victory in Ames back in 2021.
Fennelly says the Hawkeyes have been impressive early in the season.
