IOWA CITY, Iowa – University of Iowa sophomore Ava Heiden earned National Player of the Week honors following her efforts against No. 7 Baylor and Miami at the WBCA Showcase, the United States Basketball Writers Association announced.
She was also tabbed as the Big Ten Player of the Week on Monday.
Heiden led Iowa to its first ranked victory of the season against Baylor last Thursday. The Sherwood, Oregon native, logged her third double-double of the season with a team-high 18 points, 11 rebounds, and three assists.
