IOWA CITY, Iowa — University of Iowa redshirt freshman Angelo Ferrari has been named Big Ten Wrestler of the Week, the league office announced Thursday.

The Melissa, Texas, native earned the honor after going 4-0 at the National Duals Invitational at the BOK Center in Tulsa, Oklahoma.

Ferrari recorded wins against No. 4 Zack Ryder (Oklahoma State), No. 7 Dylan Fishback (Ohio State), No. 8 Aeoden Sinclair (Missouri) and No. 26 Chris Moore (Illinois).

Ferrari is the first Hawkeye to earn Big Ten Wrestler of the Week honors this season.

No. 3 Iowa returns to action Friday against No. 19 Pittsburgh at 7:30 p.m. (CT) at Carver-Hawkeye Arena.
