RUTH ANN MORTENSEN, 84, of Elk Horn, died Monday, Oct. 27, 2025, at the Salem Lutheran Home. A burial for RUTH ANN MORTENSEN will be held at a later date at Shelby Cemetery. Pauley-Jones Funeral Home in Harlan is assisting the family.

A family viewing will be held at the funeral home, on Thursday, Oct. 30th, from 5-until 8-pm.

Her children – Ronald (Donna) Smith, of Clarksville, TN; JoAnn (Steve) Brown, and Troy (Laura) Smith, all of Elk Horn, IA; Robin Smith, and Patty Ginder, both of Fairhope, AL.

Her siblings – Richard “Dick” Soll, of Elk Horn, IA; Robert “Bob” (Darlene) Soll, of Audubon, and Michael “Mick” (Gloria) Soll, of Missoula, MT.

10 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren, 13 great-great-grandchildren, other relatives and many friends.
