The Riverside Cross Country team is set for the state meet this weekend after winning the ACGC State Qualifying meet. The Bulldogs won an astonishing eight meets throughout the season. Head Coach Alex Oliver says despite the close finishes between his top three runners, they all have their own strategies.

The Bulldogs had three finishers in the top six at ACGC. Senior Dawson Henderson and Junior Owen Fenner going back-to-back placing second and third, with Senior Brody Henderson finishing sixth. Oliver pointed out it’s a top to bottom effort to take home hardware at any given meet.

The course in Fort Dodge is flatter than most tracks the Bulldogs have ran on which alters the strategy slightly.

The Class 1A Boys’ race is scheduled for 2:45 P.M. on Saturday. We’ll have coverage throughout the day on KJAN from the state meet in Fort Dodge Friday and Saturday.
