BETTENDORF, Iowa (KWQC) – A man has been charged after police say he ran naked up and down a hotel hallway while high on cocaine and caused more than $25,000 in damages. A police affidavit says 46-year-old Gary Stanley got high on cocaine and stripped naked before running around the second floor of the Courtyard by Marriott in Bettendorf. Police said Stanley set off the fire alarm, forcing an evacuation, and sprayed two fire extinguishers throughout the floor, which caused an estimated $25,000 in damaged. Officials say an officer was injured while trying to place Stanley under arrest.

Officers later put Stanley in full-body restraints because he was kicking the back windows of the squad car. A small plastic bag of cocaine was found in Stanley’s sock, according to the arrest affidavit. Stanley is charged with criminal mischief, disorderly conduct, and interference with official acts causing injury. He is in the Scott County Jail on a $15,000 cash-only bond.

A preliminary hearing is scheduled for 10 a.m. on Oct. 10.
