October 8th, 2025 by Ric Hanson
Iowa State basketball coach T.J. Otzelberger says senior point guard Tamin Lipsey is on schedule for a November return. Lipsey suffered a sprained knee on September 23rd and Otzelberger says the four year starter is working on become more of a vocal leader.
Otzelberger says it is difficult to believe this will be Lipsey’s final season.
The Cyclones return three of their top five scorers from a team that finished 25-10 and made it to the second round of the NCAA Tournament. Otzelberger says how much depth this team has will depend upon the new players.
Otzelberger says a key to this season will be team chemistry and that process began during summer workouts.
Otzelberger says six-11 freshman Dominykas Pleta is in contention to be the starter in the post. Otzelberger says the native of Germany is the most improved player since the start of summer workouts.
The Cyclones visit Creighton for an exhibition game on October 17th.
