IOWA CITY, Iowa – The University of Iowa rowing team will split up this weekend to host the Iowa Chase and travel to Princeton for the Princeton Chase. The Iowa Chase will be held on the Iowa River, Saturday, Nov. 1 with racing starting at 9:35 a.m. (CT). On Sunday, the Hawkeyes will race on Lake Carnegie with rolling starts beginning at 9:00 a.m. (CT).

HEAR FROM HEAD COACH JEFF GARBUTT
“This is not something we typically do, but it’s a great opportunity for everyone to suit up and compete. Each boat will have targets that we want them to hit whether they are at home or on the road. Last year we had a lot of success as a team at the Iowa Chase, and we are still looking to continue that into this year. Princeton will be a great benchmark to see how fall training has impacted our performance and will drive how we set up winter training. It is always a great day when we can represent the black and gold.”

Iowa will compete against a stacked field consisting of No. 6 Princeton, No. 10 Virginia, No. 16 Penn, No. 17 Dartmouth and No. 24 Clemson as well as Big Ten rivals, No. 8 Rutgers and No. 11 Michigan.
