(Atlantic, Iowa) – Another person hoping to serve on the Atlantic School Board, has announced their candidacy for one of two Director At-Large seats on the Board. In a Facebook post this (Wednesday) morning Jordan Zarbano said he was born and raised a member of the community, and cares deeply about the success of our students, the support of our teachers, and the future of our schools. “I believe every student deserves the best opportunity to learn in a safe, challenging, and supportive environment,” Zarbano said.

He said also, his focus will be on:
• Strong academics that prepare our students for the future.
• Transparency, accountability, and fiscal responsibility.
• Support for teachers and staff
• Student well-being & extracurricular opportunities
• Community engagement, giving families and residents a voice in our schools “Our taxpayers will be heard” he says.
Zarbano said also he’s “…not oblivious to the fact that [he is] young, and [that he] may lack some of the experience other candidates might have.” But he added, “…what I lack in experience. I make up tenfold with drive, passion, resiliency, fresh perspective, accountability, eagerness to learn, and relatability.”
Last month, former Atlantic teacher and lifelong Atlantic resident Justin Williams announced his candidacy for the Atlantic Community School District’s Board of Education.
The last day to file candidate nomination papers for the November 4 election is September 18, 2025, at 5 p.m.
