RICHARD “Dick” NELSEN, 80, of Atlantic (& formerly of Anita), died Tuesday, September 16, 2025, at Heritage House in Atlantic. Funeral services for DICK NELSEN will be held 10:30-a.m. Saturday, Sept. 20, 2025, at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Atlantic. Roland Funeral Service in Atlantic has the arrangements.

In honor of Dick’s service to his country military honors will be presented by the Anita American Legion Post #210.

The service will be recorded and available on the funeral home website by end of day Saturday.

Visitation with the family present will be held from 5:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m., Friday, September 19^th at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Atlantic.

Burial will be held at a later date at the Evergreen Cemetery in Anita.

Memorials may be directed to St. Paul’s Lutheran Church or to a charity of your choice.  Dick’s personal picks outside of the church would have been the Anita American Legion Post #210 or Iowa PBS.

RICHARD “DICK” NELSEN is survived by:

His wife – Glennda.

His  daughters – Holly (Gary) Hermann, of Alexandria, VA, and April (Jonathan) Hansen, of Anita.

His sister – Margaret (Mick) Heath.

His brother – Bob (Cheryl) Nelsen.

9 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren.
