IOWA CITY, Iowa – University of Iowa women’s soccer student-athlete Taylor Kane was named Big Ten Goalkeeper of the Week, the Big Ten office announced on Tuesday.

The graduate student earned the start against Saint Louis on Sunday. Saint Louis was receiving votes and came in at No. 26 in the United Soccer Coaches poll. The Billiken’s came into the match after picking up a win against fellow Big Ten foe, Indiana.

The Hawkeyes defeated Saint Louis, 3-0, as Kane had two saves. The Billiken’s had previously gone 46 games without a shutout loss dating back to 2023. Their last shutout loss came against Xavier on Aug. 31, 2023.

The Santa Barbara, Calif. native becomes just the third Hawkeye in program history to win Big Ten Goalkeeper of the Week. Kane is the first Hawkeye to win the award since former Hawkeye Macy Enneking on Sept. 3, 2025.

The Hawkeyes are back in action on Thursday when they play host to Iowa State in the first contest of the Iowa Corn Cy-Hawk Series. The match is set to start at 7 p.m. (CT) and will be streamed live on B1G+ (subscription required).
