Hawkeyes Finish 2 Rounds at Badger Invitational

MADISON, Wis. – The University of Iowa women’s golf team completed the second round at the Badger Invitational on Monday afternoon at the University Ridge Golf Course. The Hawkeyes posted even par (288), bringing their two-day total to seven-over and placing them fifth overall.

Junior Maura Peters tied her career-low with a three-under par (69) to headline Iowa’s performance in the second round. Senior Riley Lewis wrapped up the front nine at one-under and went on to finish the second round at even par. She recorded par or better on 16 of her 18 holes.

Senior Shannyn Vogler carded a 73, highlighted by three birdies, climbing seven spots after the second round to move into a tie for 25th place. Junior Ximena Benites recorded a 74, with two birdies on the front nine to sit in 21st.

Freshman Sunny Wang concluded Iowa’s lineup recording a 76 and sits tied in 46th place.

Senior Kaitlyn Hanna competed as an individual carding 76 and is also tied with Wang at eight-over par for the tournament.

Illinois is the team leader at 13-under after day two, while Kaitlyn Helm of Washington State is at the top the individual leader at seven-under.
