(Harlan, Iowa) – The Shelby County Roads Department reports, beginning Monday, August 25, 2025, Shelby County will begin repaving County Road M-16. County Road M-16 will be Closed to Thru Traffic from the City of Shelby to State Hwy. 44.

Additionally, County Road M-16 from State Highway 44 to County Road F-32 will be closed at a later date as this project continues. Please use an alternate route during this time unless you are needing access to your property along these portions of County Road M-16.

Please be mindful of construction workers and equipment. Line markings will not be present during this time, so please use caution traveling. Construction is expected to last until Late-October depending on the weather.
