Remsen St Mary’s Begins State Title Defense in Audubon
August 29th, 2025 by Jack McGonigal
The defending state champion Remsen St. Mary’s Hawks begin the 2025 season with a team they defeated in their journey to a third state title in five years. Despite the recent success, Head Coach Tim Osterman says he was a little more curious to see how his team would shape up than years past. Nonetheless, he has been pleased so far.
The Hawks lost their top two quarterbacks, top three rushers, top five receivers, and top eight tacklers. In the preseason scrimmage, Osterman says the focus was learning more about themselves and pinning down on the fundamentals.
Sophomore Dalton Klein threw just six passes in his freshman year but a year learning under Waldschmitt and Loucks, Osterman believes he’s ready for the starting job.
The Hawks know Audubon is capable of giving anyone headaches on the opposite sideline and Remsen St. Mary’s knows they’ll have to be 100% ready.
Ball protection and playing as clean as possible will be the keys for the Hawks.
Kickoff is scheduled for 7 pm in Audubon and join KJAN for pregame coverage at 6:30 pm.
