Atlantic Football Sets Eyes on 2025 Season
August 5th, 2025 by Jack McGonigal
As the calendar flips to August, pads begin to collide, and football is in the air. For the Atlantic Football team, they are seeking to build on a 6-4 year in 2024 and have been preparing for next week’s first official practice all summer.
Prior to Monday’s opening practice Head Coach Joe Brummer and his staff will be able to evaluate his team on the field over the next couple of days.
Brummer says the Trojans return many at the skill positions but the line on both sides of the ball will look different.
Despite the new leadership on the defensive line, Atlantic returns an experienced secondary.
On the offensive side, the Trojans return South Dakota State commit Gavin McLaren who rushed for nearly 800 yards in 2024 and led the team with 13 rushing touchdowns. Brummer says the way McLaren plays fits right into the staff’s scheme.
As a 3A school competition isn’t light says Brummer and it is a one game at a time approach in his eyes.
