Former Iowa star and NFL safety Micah Hyde says he has moved on to the next chapter of his life. After flirting with a return to the Buffalo Bills late last season Hyde officially retired in January. He will be in Iowa City on Friday to host a golf fundraiser for families of patients in the Stead Family Children’s Hospital.

With his playing career over, Hyde is looking forward to returning to Kinnick Stadium next season.

The golf outing will be Friday afternoon at Finkbine golf course. It will include several current and former Hawkeye players and they hope to raise 25 thousand dollars.

During his 11-year NFL career that included stops in Green Bay and Buffalo Hyde was active in the community. That won’t stop just because he is done playing.
