Air Quality Alert through Friday for Iowa

(Des Moines, Iowa) – The Iowa DNR has issued an Air Quality Alert in effect through midnight Friday. Moderate to heavy wildfire smoke is expected to impact most of Iowa over the coming days. Air quality levels may reach unhealthy for sensitive groups, and at times, even unhealthy for the general public.
Who’s at risk?
-People with respiratory or heart conditions
-Children and teens
-Older adults
-Outdoor workers

Air Quality Alert for Iowa (Counties in gray)
The DNR recommends limiting or avoiding prolonged outdoor activities. Take frequent breaks if working or exercising outside until conditions improve.
