1 dead, 1 injured in an eastern Iowa crash Tuesday afternoon

CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa – An eastern Iowa resident died, and another was injured Tuesday afternoon, during a crash in Clinton County. According to the Iowa State Patrol, a 51-year-old from Miles (IA) died, when the 2004 Oldsmobile Alero they were driving, failed to stop at the intersection of Iowa Highway 136 and 380th Avenue. A 2014 Ford Flex (SUV) driven by 31-year-old Riley Reed, of Charlotte (IA) struck the car, resulting in fatal injuries to the unidentified driver of the Oldsmobile. The accident happened at around 1:45-p.m. Both drivers were wearing their seat belts.
Reed was transported by Preston Ambulance to MercyOne Hospital, in Clinton. The crash remains under investigation.
