Iowa Softball Signs 3 More for 2025-26

IOWA CITY, Iowa – Three student-athletes — Nailyn Marshall, Leah McAnally, and Avery Sapp, — have signed with the University of Iowa softball program. It was announced Wednesday by head coach Stacy May-Johnson.
Marshall has three seasons of eligibility remaining, while McAnally and Sapp have two.

- Hit .244 with 30 hits, six doubles and four home runs
- Recorded first-career home run against Maryland on February 8
- Collected 19 runs, 14 walks, and two stolen bases while registering a .326 on base percentage

- All-Mountain West Second Team (2025)
- In 2025, played in 52 games, including 39 starts
- Hit .311 with nine doubles, six home runs and 39 RBIs
- As a freshman in 2024, appeared in 50 games with 42 starts
- Hit .292 with eight doubles, seven home runs and 30 RBIs
- Accumulated 32 runs in two seasons with and OBP of .368

Avery Sapp

- Led pitching staff with career-high 97 strikeouts in 139.1 innings, collecting 11 wins
- Struck out a career-high nine batters against Boise State on February 8
- Named to Academic All-District team
- Holds a career .241 batting average with 19 runs and five doubles
- In the circle has 160 career strikeouts in 230.1 innings
