Iowa sophomore receiver Reece Vander Zee is hoping to take the next step this fall. Vander Zee played quarterback as a senior at Central Lyon/George-Little Rock High School and burst onto the scene as a wide out last season with two touchdown catches in a season opening win over Illinois State. He made eight starts as a freshman and finished with 14 receptions, including three for touchdowns.

As he gains more experience Vander Zee feels he will perform better against press coverage.

The Hawkeyes open the season at home on August 30th against the University of Albany.
