The PGA Tour returns to the Quad Cities next month for the John Deere Classic and Davis Thompson will be back to try and defend his title. Thompson won with a tournament record 28-under par. It was his first and so far only PGA win.

Winning on the PGA Tour is career changing and opens up a lot of opportunities. It also serves to raise expectations.

Thompson’s best result this season was a tie for 10th at the Players Championship back in March.

Winning in the Quad Cities has allowed Thompson to play in major events like the British Open and the Masters.

The John Deere Classic is July third through the sixth. Also, Deere and Company announced it has extended its agreement to remain title sponsor of the event though 2030.
