Teens charged in April burglaries in Adams County

(Corning, Iowa) – Authorities in Adams County say four teenagers face burglary and other charges, following an investigation into multiple vehicle burglaries that occurred in Prescott, in early April. The Adams County Sheriff’s Office reports the teens are all 14-years old.Three of the teens were from Creston, the other from Prescott.

  • One of the teens from Creston, was charged with six-counts of Burglary in the 3rd Degree, two-counts of Theft in the 3rd Degree, two-counts of Theft in the 4th Degree, and one-count of Reckless use of a Firearm.
  • Another Creston teen was charged six-counts of Burglary in the 3rd -, one-count of Theft in the 4th -, and two counts of Theft in the 3rd – degrees.
  • The other teen from Creston was charged with two-counts of Burglary in the 3rd degree.
  • The 14-year-old from Prescott was also charged with two-counts of Burglary 3rd.

All four teens were referred to Juvenile Court Services. No names were released because they are juveniles.  Separately, the Adams County Sheriff’s Office reports six other arrests:

  • Jason McCollum was arrested following a traffic stop March 29th. McCollum was charged with Possession of a Controlled Substance 1st Offense and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. Additional charges are pending.
  • Jennifer Lynn Collins, of Kentucky, was arrested following a traffic stop April 25th. Collins was charged with Possession of a Controlled Substance (Marijuana) 1st Offense.
  • 32-year-old Jacob D. Jones was arrested April 4th on four outstanding warrants for Adams and Union counties.
  • Patrick Dean Jones was arrested April 29th on multiple active Adams County warrants for Failure to Appear.
  • 34-year-old David Downey, was arrested following a traffic stop April 22nd, and charged with  Violation of a No Contact Order.
  • and, Dennis Edward Nekuda, of Corning, was arrested on April 28th for Violation of a No Contact Order.
