Nodaway Valley Baseball Season Underway

Sports

May 29th, 2025 by Jack McGonigal

The Nodaway Valley Baseball team has begun its 2025 season. The Wolverines currently sit 0-1 after a 13-7 loss versus Creston but look to bounce back Thursday on the road at Mount Ayr. Head Coach Dan Jameson says the best baseball isn’t meant to be played in May.

Jameson believes limiting free bases and confidence will be the key to get that first victory.

Nodaway Valley fields a 21-man roster that includes four seniors. Outside of the senior class, Junior Remington Woosley is expected to be a leader for this Wolverines team. Woosley had the top earned run average on last year’s team and even put one over the fence in this season’s opener. He’s one of the five best hitters for average that all returned for the 2025 season. This team is gaining experience and confidence according to Jameson.

Many of those mentioned will see significant time on the mound as well.

The Wolverines search for their first winning season since 2022 and the team believes they have the tools to do so.
